Optimasi Komposisi Lemak Sawit dan Akuades dalam Losion Diphenhydramine HCl
Abstract
Palm fat is a natural base from a mixture of hydrogenated palm kernel oil and hydrogenated palm kernel stearin which contains triglycerides, a combination of glycerol and fatty acids. Palm fat can be used as a base in lotion preparations and can provide an emollient effect. Palm fat has developed in several drug delivery systems, including as a base for suppositories which have the potential to be a good suppository base and a base for gel-cream preparations. However, there is still no literature regarding lotions based on palm fat. This study used diphenhydramine hydrochloride as a model drug. The aim of this research is to
determine the effect of the composition of palm fat base and aquadest in the diphenhydramine hydrochloride lotion formulation on the physical characteristics and response (pH, spreadability, viscosity, stability and drug release rate) as well as to determine the optimum composition of palm fat and distilled water base. The optimum formula results obtained were palm fat concentration of 28,80% and aquadest 63,91% with a pH response of 4.87; spreadability 7,00 cm, viscosity 3497 mPas, and flux 214,490 µg/cm2min1/2 with a desirability value of 0.657
