Prarancangan Pabrik Biogas dari Limbah Cair Kelapa Sawit Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) Kapasitas 12.000 Ton/Tahun
Abstract
Biogas is a gas that is formed naturally through anaerobic fermentation process which is one of the raw materials from Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME). POME is a pollutant from the palm oil industry that causes the most environmental problems because the content of organic compounds is high above the quality standard. Untreated POME can release CH4 and CO2 into the atmosphere in the form of greenhouse gases, which cause an increase in the Earth's surface temperature and thus affect the Earth's biotic community. Further treatment needs to be done to overcome these problems by processing POME into biogas. Biogas formation using anaerobic fermentation method for 4 days and purified using chemical absorbtion solvent monoethanolamine (MEA). The design of a biogas plant with POME raw materials will be established in 2025 with a production capacity of 12,000 tons/year. The location of the plant is planned to be in the Sebawi, Kab. Sambas, District. Sebawi, West Kalimantan with an area of 59,620 m2. The workforce required is 140 workers with a company in the form of a Perseroan Terbatas (PT) that implements the line and staff organization system. Based on economic analysis, obtained Annual Cash Flow (ACF) of 30% , Pay Out Time (POT) amount 3,7 years, Rate of Return (ROR) 21,38% , Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) 28,1%, Break Even Point (BEP) 54,9%, so the factory is worth setting up.
