Penerapan Konsep Walkability Sebagai Upaya Pengembangan Pedestrian Ways Pada Kawasan Alun - Alun Perkotaan Lumajang
Abstract
The Lumajang urban square area is included in the primary locale which
functions as a public space, offices, and public service facilities. The variety of
land-use activities around the Alun - Alun area has resulted in a high level of
attraction for movement in the area. Based on the existing conditions of
pedestrian facilities in the Alun - Alun area, it is classified as inadequate for
pedestrians. Several factors cause this condition to occur, namely lack of
maintenance, and developments that are directly related to existing facilities or
are deliberately damaged by irresponsible people. Based on these issues, it can be
interpreted that the environmental conditions of the pedestrian way in the
Lumajang Urban Square area are not functioning as they should.
The purpose of this study is to formulate recommendations for the
direction of the development of appropriate pedestrian way related to walkability
in the Lumajang Urban Square area. This study uses LOS (Level of Service)
analysis which refers to Permen PU Number: 03/PRT/M/2014 concerning
guidelines for planning, providing, and using pedestrian network infrastructure
and facilities in an urban area, GWI (Global Walkability Index) refers to on the
Asian Development Bank "Walkability Surveys in Asia Cities" Leather et al
(2011) and IPA (Importance Performance Analysis).
From the results of the analysis and calculations, it shows that the
majority of pedestrian path performance/service levels in segment 1 outer area
and segment 2 in the Alun - Alun area on weekdays and weekends have a LOS A
value, but in segment 1 the outer area (west section) during weekends in the
morning days has a value of LOS B. The level of walkability index in segment 1
outer area (north-south-west-east) with a score of 59.75 and segment 2 in the
Alun-Alun area with a score of 65.3. Both values are included in the yellow
category with a waiting to walk rating (enough to walk). In raising
recommendations for the direction of pedestrian way development in the
Lumajang Urban square area, descriptive analysis is used by looking at the
parameters that are considered to have the lowest value weighting.
