    Abstract
As a commodity, concrete has several advantages including a high compressive strength value and is easily formed according to construction needs. However, besides its advantages, concrete has weaknesses, one of which is the lack of ability to withstand tensile forces, where the tensile strength value ranges from 8% - 15% of the compressive strength value. The fibers can be added as micro-reinforcement or secondary reinforcement which is then spread evenly to increase the resistance to tensile strength and reduce the risk of cracking in the concrete body. Steel Wool is a low-carbon steel fiber derived from cutting metal waste and can be called a material that can promote green technology. The material has a fairly high tensile strength resistance. In this study, the level of steel wool added to the concrete mixture has variations of 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, and 0.8% with normal concrete specified as a comparison variable. The test object used was a cylinder with a size of 15x30 cm with a concrete quality plan f'c 25. The test results of compressive strength and split tensile strength were obtained using a Compressive Test Concrete tool. The use of steel wool content variations of 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, and 0.8% of the concrete volume, showed an increase with the proportion of 0.8% showing the largest compressive strength value at 25.85 MPa and the largest tensile strength value at 2.76 MPa. So, steel wool can be used as fiber additive with optimum proportion of 0.8% of concrete volume.
