    Abstract
The Surabaya-Mojokerto toll road construction project, in its implementation, passes through agricultural land, residential areas, houses, and plants located on land owned by villagers who predominantly work as farmers. They have to comply with government policies by relinquishing their land rights. However, the land that has been used as agricultural land for so long serves as the livelihood source for the farmers. Through land acquisition carried out by the government, farmers receive compensation in the form of monetary compensation based on the size of the land and buildings. Based on this issue, this research is conducted in one of the areas traversed by the Surabaya-Mojokerto toll road construction project, namely in Gedeg Village, Gedeg District, Mojokerto Regency. The research formulation that emerged subsequently is that how the efforts of utilizing compensation funds and business transfers are carried out by the community of Kedunglosari Village following the land acquisition for the purpose of toll road development. This research was conducted using qualitative data collection methods. In addition to employing in-depth interviews and observations, the data collection was also supported by secondary data from government institutions. The results of this research indicate that the community members in Gedeg Village utilize compensation funds for 1) Depositing in banks, 2) Purchasing new rice fields, 3) Meeting daily living expenses, 4) Investing in business ventures, and 5) Passing it down to their families. The provision of compensation funds by the government to the community members whose lands are affected by the Surabaya-Mojokerto toll road construction project is expected to provide a solution.
