    Abstract
Meloidogyne incognita attack is one of the causes of decreased productivity of tomato plants that can reach 70%. Control of attacks from Meloidogyne incognita is often performed using nematicides, but nematicides are harmful to the environment. Therefore it is necessary to carry out environmentally friendly control using biological control agents in the form of endophytic bacteria which have been proven to be able to control Meloidogyne incognita. The aim of this study was to determine the types of endophytic bacteria with potential as biological control agents for Meloidogyne incognita. This study was conducted from December to April at the Gembio Laboratory of the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Jember, and the Nematode Laboratory at Istana Tidar Regency, Jember. The steps taken consisted of sampling the roots of tomato plants, isolating endophytic bacteria, testing the potential of endophytic bacteria, identifying endophytic bacteria, and creating booklets as a medium for disseminating information. The results of this study revealed four isolates of endophytic bacteria that have the potential to control Meloidogyne incognita: E1, E2, E4, and E5. E1 is a group of bacteria from the genus Streptobacillus; E2 and E4 are bacteria from the genus Veillonella; and E5 is Staphylococcus.
