dc.description.abstractThe background of this research is textbooks which are used as the only source of learning mathematics, the low activity of students when learning mathematics, and the low ability of students' mathematical literacy. This study aims to determine the process of developing modules based on Madurese local wisdom to optimize mathematical literacy skills for plane figure and to determine the validity, effectiveness, and practicality of modules based on Madurese local wisdom to optimize mathematical literacy skills for plane figure. This development research uses the Borg and Gall model which is carried out only up to the eighth stage. The research subjects in this study were fourth grade students at MIN 1 Pamekasan. The data collection instruments used were observation guides, interview guides, student response questionnaire sheets, documentation sheets, and learning achievement test sheets. Data analysis techniques used are product validity analysis, use trial analysis, product effectiveness analysis, and product practicality analysis. The development of modules based on Madurese local wisdom produces products that are valid, effective and practical. Validity is shown from the validation results by the three validators by getting a score of 91 (very decent). Effectiveness is shown from the results of student learning tests, namely the pre-test and post-test between the experimental class and the control class to get a relative effectiveness result of 76% (high effectiveness), although the remaining 24% is influenced by other factors such as student learning motivation, in addition students' mathematical literacy skills also become more optimal by being able to solve math problems correctly. Practicality is shown by the results of the student response questionnaire by getting a score of 84% (very practical). Based on the data above, it can be concluded that the Madurese local wisdom-based module is effectively used in learning mathematics in elementary plane figure.en_US
