dc.description.abstract | Field soil electroconductivity (EC) mapping had been widely used as a database for estimating the soil condition on agriculture land, especially in precision agriculture application. Soil EC measurement is an indication of soil salinity. There are many research that strengthen the understanding that EC measurement can be used to predict soil fertility condition. Some research event showed the correlation soil EC measurement with cation exchange rate, soil water content, fertilization rate, and yield. But the mechanism to explain and interpret how soil EC measurement can describe the soil condition is still containing high complexity. It is since soil EC measurement not just affected by soil salinity, but there are other factors that affects the measurement likes soil water content, soil density, soil texture, soil PH, and soil temperature. This study is trying to explain the previous study and research about soil EC measurement and interpretation. Furthermore, there are also explanation about best practice for measuring and interpreting the soil EC measurement in some condition with the examples. Hopefully this article could be new insight to give understanding about the excellent and limitation of soil EC measurement to estimate soil condition on agriculture land. | en_US |
