Abstract

The 2018 General Election was a turning point for a long-standing system. Not only does it offer change, but more than that, Malaysian Politics is undergoing a transition of power that is almost a turnaround. The role of the elite has become so important in this change, because it cannot be denied that consociational democracy places the elite as an important consensus, either to facilitate change or to preserve the old system.
