Hubungan Antara Motivasi Dengan Perilaku Diet Pada Penderita Hipertensi Di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Jenggawah Kabupaten Jember
Abstract
Motivation affects patients with hypertension in performing hypertension diet
behavior. Hypertension diet behavior aims to prevent recurrence of hypertension
and blood pressure remains within normal limits. This study aimed to analyze the
correlation between motivation and diet behavior on patients with hypertension at
Jenggawah Public Health Center, Jember Regency. Further, this study uses a
correlational research design with a cross-sectional approach conducted on 84
samples under the inclusion criteria using a Consecutive sampling technique. The
questionnaires used are the Motivation questionnaire and Diet Behavior
questionnaire. The analysis of motivation and diet behavior correlation uses
correlation test, Kendall’s Tau B test, with a significance level of 0,05. The results
showed that the percentage of motivation accounted for 43 respondents (51.2%)
having poor motivation and 41 respondents (48.8%) having good motivation. The
percentage of diet behavior for 56 respondents (66.7%) having bad dietary
behavior and 28 respondents (33.3%) having good dietary behavior. There is a
significant correlation between Motivation and Diet Behavior (p = 0.000 and r =
0.623) with a strong and positive correlation, which means that the higher
motivation in patient hypertension, the better behavior of diet by hypertensive
patients in the Jenggawah Community Health Center, Jember Regency.
