Abstract

Early Season Shift And Its Relationship With Rice And Corn Productivity In Probolinggo District: Dewi Masita; 191510301039; 2024: 33 Pages; Soil Science Study Program Of The Faculty Of Agriculture, University Of Jember Climate change affects rainfall patterns in a region. The climate change that is occurring has quite a big impact, one of which is on the agricultural sector. This research was conducted with the aim of finding out the relationship between shifts at the start of the season and rice and corn productivity in Probolinggo Regency. The research was carried out at the Agroclimatology Laboratory, Soil Science Study Programme, Faculty of Agriculture, Jember University, in December 2022–April 2024. The method used in this research is to determine the initial rainfall, determine the start of the rainy season and the start of the dry season, determine shifts at the beginning of the rainy season and the dry season, and then continue with statistical tests in the form of simple linear regression analysis tests, which aim to determine the relationship between shifts at the start of the season and rice and corn productivity in Probolinggo Regency. The distribution of the beginning of the dry season in Probolinggo Regency is in the 8th, 9th, 10th, 12th, 13th and 14th seasons, with a decline of up to 7 days and an advance of 5 days, while the distribution of the start of the rainy season is in the 32nd, 33rd, 34rd, 35rd, 36rd, 37rd and 38rd with the start of the rainy season experiencing a decline of up to 9 basis and advance of 4 basis. The relationship between the shift at the start of the dry season and the productivity of rice and corn has a correlation coefficient of 0.92 and 0.88, while the relationship between the shift at the start of the rainy season and the productivity of rice and corn has a correlation coefficient of 0.97 and 0.93. The conclusion obtained is that almost most areas in Probolinggo Regency experience a shift in the beginning of the rainy season and the beginning of the dry season, both forward and backward, every year. The correlation coefficient value for each variable has a number very high, which means that the shift in the start of the rainy season and the start of the dry season affects the productivity of rice and corn in Probolinggo Regency
