Abstract

Speaking is a crucial language skill that EFL students have to improve to communicate effectively. Speaking is an interactive process of building meaning that involves producing, receiving, and processing information (Brown, 1994; Burns &. Joyce, 1997). However, one of the issues that arises is a lack of student motivation to speak English. According to the researcher's findings, a lack of student motivation to learn English can be caused by various factors, including the students themselves, the teacher's teaching tactics, classroom conditions, and others. As a result, according to Brown (2000), strong motivation and concentration are required before the necessary effort is exerted to achieve goals. As a result, motivation is critical in teaching and learning to speak.
