Abstract
The research is motivated difficulty in reading and understanding narrative texts. Students' reading is still low because they are only driven by textbooks and worksheets. Students are passive so that learning becomes ineffective and does not achieve learning objectives. Learning media is used to help improve students' skills in reading comprehension in 4th grade Elementary School. The type of research is Research and Development or R&D. Location at UPTD SPF SDN Pakisan 3. Subjects are 4th grade students of UPTD SPF SDN Pakisan 3 Bondowoso. Data collection methods are observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests and documentation. The design validation results are included in the very feasible category for testing. The results of the practicality of the Singo Ulung media are included in the "very practical" category. The results of the effectiveness of comic media are effective for use as a learning medium for reading comprehension in narrative texts. The media development process uses the Research and Development (R&D) model from Borg and Gall. The steps used are only up to step 8 because the researcher has limited funds and time. The results of media validation by the three validators were very valid, very effective and very practical.
