Abstract
Teacher performance in teaching activities is influenced by various factors, one of which is the implementation of academic supervision by the principal. Field conditions indicate that the implementation of academic supervision in several Public Elementary Schools in Curahdami District, Bondowoso Regency still faces various obstacles, so that teacher performance is not fully optimal. This study aims to determine whether or not there is a relationship between the principal's academic supervision and teacher performance in teaching activities in Public Elementary Schools in Curahdami District, Bondowoso Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational research type. The research subjects were 60 respondents consisting of 20 principals and 40 teachers. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using normality tests, linearity tests, Pearson Product Moment correlations, and coefficients of determination with the help of SPSS. The results of the analysis show a correlation coefficient (rxy) of 0.516 with a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.020, which indicates a positive and significant relationship between the principal's academic supervision and teacher performance in teaching activities. Thus, it can be concluded that the better the principal's implementation of academic supervision, the better the teacher performance in teaching activities at Public Elementary Schools in Curahdami District, Bondowoso Regency.
