Abstract

Modeling rainfall into river flow in river basins (DAS) is a key aspect in planning and managing water resources. This research aims to compare the results of modeling rainfall flow using HEC-HMS between observational rainfall data and CHIRPS satellite rainfall data in the Tanggul watershed. Data collection and processing methods involve correlation, correction and modeling using HEC-HMS with daily rainfall input. The results show that the peak discharge resulting from modeling with observed rainfall data is higher than that from CHIRPS satellite rainfall data. Nash-Scutliffe and R values2 shows that modeling with observational rainfall data has a better level of accuracy than modeling with CHIRPS satellite rainfall data with NSE values of 0.575 and R2 of 0.5885 for observed rainfall, the NSE value is 0.449 and R2 of 0.5437 for CHIRPS satellite rainfall. Based on the results of the NSE and R values2, although CHIRPS satellite rainfall data can be used in modeling, observational rainfall data is still more accurate for producing reliable modeling in managing river flow discharge.
