Abstract

Science learning at the junior high school level plays an important role in developing students’ scientific creativity. However, preliminary observations at SMP Negeri 1 Arjasa indicated that students’ scientific creativity was still low due to teacher-centered instruction and the limited use of the environment as a learning resource. This study aimed to develop an environment-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) on the topic of substances and their changes and to examine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving students’ scientific creativity. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects included one science teacher and 30 seventh-grade students of class VII F at SMP Negeri 1 Arjasa. The research instruments comprised validation sheets, learning implementation observation sheets, scientific creativity pretest and posttest, and student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques through percentage analysis and N-gain calculation. The results showed that the developed environment-based LKPD achieved a validity level of 89%, categorized as very valid. The practicality of the LKPD was indicated by an average learning implementation score of 82%, categorized as very practical. The effectiveness of the LKPD was demonstrated by an increase in students’ scientific creativity with an N-gain score of 0.37, categorized as moderate. Therefore, the environment based LKPD is feasible and effective for use in junior high school science learning
