Pengembangan Modul IPAS Berbasis Budidaya Kopi Arabika Ijen Bondowoso untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Literasi Sains Siswa Kelas V SDN Dabasah 3

Abstract

The IPAS module based on Arabica coffee cultivation is a teaching material that integrates the potential of local natural resources to improve science literacy of elementary school students. This module connects IPAS material with real-life contexts in the surrounding environment, particularly the Arabica coffee cultivation in Ijen Bondowoso, making learning more contextual. This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the module in enhancing the science literacy skills of fifth-grade elementary school students. This research uses a research and development method with the 4D Thiagarajan model, which includes the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The research subjects were 23 fifth-grade students of SDN Dabasah 3 Bondowoso. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, expert validation, learning outcome tests (pretest and posttest), and student response questionnaires. The data analysis in this study aimed to measure the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the module. Module validity was analyzed using the Valpro formula, practicality using the Sas formula, while effectiveness was measured using N-Gain to determine the improvement in students' science literacy skills. The results of the study showed that the module obtained a validity score of 81.7 in the very feasible category and practicality of 88.7% in the very practical category. Effectiveness was indicated by an increase in learning outcomes from an average pretest score of 51.5 to a posttest score of 80.2 with an N-Gain value of 0.58 in the effective category. Thus, the IPAS module based on Arabica coffee cultivation in Ijen Bondowoso is declared valid, practical, and effective and can serve as an alternative contextual teaching material to improve elementary school students' science literacy.
