Abstract
The rise in Bank Indonesia’s 7-day reverse repo rate from 2022 to 2024 serves as the basis for this study to analyze the effects of leverage, firm growth, and firm size on profitability among companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2022–2024 period. Profitability is proxied by Return on Assets (ROA), leverage is measured using the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), firm growth is proxied by asset growth, while firm size is analyzed based on total assets. This study employs a quantitative approach using the explanatory research method. The data used are secondary data obtained from company financial statements published on the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, resulting in 105 companies with a total of 315 observations. Data analysis employed multiple linear regression using SPSS software, encompassing descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, and hypothesis testing via t-test, and the coefficient of determination. The results of the study indicate that, when considered individually, leverage and firm growth do not have a significant effect on profitability. Conversely, firm size has a positive and significant effect on profitability. When considered together, leverage, firm growth, and firm size do not have a significant effect on profitability. The coefficient of determination indicates that the independent variables in this study can only explain a small portion of the variation in profitability, suggesting that there are other factors outside the model that influence corporate profitability.
