Abstract
Organic waste is waste or leftover garbage that can be recycled. One type of organic waste commonly found in industry and households is fish waste. Fish waste is the unused residue from fish production. Fish waste can include scales, fins, innards, and bones. Fish waste can cause environmental pollution and infectious diseases due to pathogenic bacteria from the fish waste. One effort to reduce environmental pollution caused by fish waste is processing fish waste as a raw material for making liquid organic fertilizer (POC). Liquid organic fish waste fertilizer can be applied to plants, including butterfly pea flowers. Butterfly pea flowers are a climbing plant characterized by a single, butterfly-shaped flower. The process of making liquid organic fertilizer for butterfly pea plants involves anaerobic fermentation techniques. Mature liquid organic fish waste fertilizer is characterized by a stable pH value. The dosage variation consists of several treatments, namely 0 mL (P0/control), 10 mL (P1), 15 mL (P2), 20 mL (P3), 25 mL (P4), 30 mL (P5). The data obtained were processed using the one-way ANOVA SPSS method. The processed data consisting of stem length, root length, total length, number of leaves, leaf area, wet mass, and dry mass were analyzed to determine the effect of the provision of liquid organic fertilizer from fish waste on the growth of butterfly pea plants. The results showed that the provision of fish waste POC significantly increased the growth of butterfly pea flowers, with an optimal concentration of 25 ml/L of water. Fish waste POC has been proven to be an alternative environmentally friendly fertilizer that effectively supports plant growth and reduces fish waste pollution in the surrounding environment.
