Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of teacher pedagogical competence
on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in Natural and Social Sciences
(IPAS) at SDN Kamal 03 Jember. The background of this study stems from the
importance of teacher pedagogical competence in managing the learning process
so that educational goals can be optimally achieved. Teachers with high
pedagogical competence are expected to understand student characteristics, design
meaningful learning, and implement evaluations tailored to student needs. This
study used a quantitative approach with an ex-post facto approach. The subjects
consisted of teachers and 27 fifth-grade students at SDN Kamal 03 Jember. Data
were collected through a teacher pedagogical competence questionnaire and an
IPAS learning achievement test. Data analysis was conducted using validity tests,
the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, and simple linear regression using
Microsoft Excel 2021. The results showed that the data were normally distributed
and there was a positive and significant effect between teacher pedagogical
competence and student IPAS learning outcomes. The regression equation obtained
is Y = 11.2858 + 0.8512X with R = 0.996 and R² = 0.992, indicating that teacher
pedagogical competence contributes 99.2% to student science learning outcomes.
Therefore, the higher the teacher's pedagogical competence, the higher the student
learning outcomes
