Abstract
The background of this research is the low level of students' critical reasoning
dimension. To address this issue, it was necessary to use an appropriate learning
model that supports the development of critical reasoning skills. The use of a
learning model supported by instructional media can greatly help in overcoming
this problem. The instructional media used in this study is e-serial picture media.
The purpose of this research is to determine whether or not there is an influence of
the problem based learning model assisted by e-serial picture media on the critical
reasoning dimension. This study employs an experimental research method with a
quasi-experimental design. The population of this research includes all fourth
grade students at SDN Curahdami 1, Bondowoso. The data collection methods used
in this study include observation, interviews, documentation, and tests. The data
analysis techniques used are the normality test, t-test, and relative effectiveness test.
Based on the post-test results, it was found that the experimental class scored
higher than the control class, with an average score of 89,1 for the experimental
class and 77 for the control class. The calculation of the relative effectiveness test
showed a result of 65,83%, indicating that the application of the problem based
learning model assisted by e-serial picture media is more effective than the
implementation of the STAD-type cooperative learning model.
