Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to describe the application of the Jigsaw cooperative learning strategy and describe the increase in students' interest in learning Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in Grade V of SDN Dabasah 3 Bondowoso. The background of the problem is the low learning interest of students (pre-cycle average of 68.73% - Category: Low), which is caused by conventional learning strategies (lectures) that tend to be passive. The research was conducted in two cycles (Planning, Implementation, Observation, Reflection) by applying the Jigsaw Technique to the IPAS material Topic A: “What is My Regional Culture Like?”. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and learning interest questionnaires. The success indicator was set at achieving an average learning interest in the “Good” category (above 80%). The results showed a significant increase. In Cycle 1, the average learning interest increased to 70.27% (Sufficient Category), but did not yet reach the success indicator. After making improvements focused on time management and increasing student enthusiasm in Cycle 2, the average learning interest reached 84.29% (Good category). Cumulatively, there was an increase in learning interest of 15.56% from the Pre-cycle to Cycle 2. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the Jigsaw learning strategy proved to be effective in increasing the learning interest of fifth-grade students at SDN Dabasah 3 Bondowoso
