Analisis Keberhasilan Manajemen Penanganan Stunting di Kabupaten Banyuwangi tahun 2024: Studi Fenomenologi

Abstract

Stunting is a worldwide health concern that affects physical growth and intellectual development of children. Stunting treatment management requires comprehensive approach comprising prevention, intervention, and evaluation. This study objective is to explore the effectiveness of stunting handling management in Banyuwangi Regency. This research applied qualitative with phenomenological approach. The purposive sampling technic was used in this study. The participants this study are 28 persons consisting of I key informant, 21 main informants, and 6 supplementary informants. The data gathered through in-depth interview and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The FGD was conducted in 3 Community Health Center attended by all participants involved in stunting management; the head of Community Health Center, doctor, nurse, sanitarian, dietitian, midwife, and cadres. In-depth interview was conducted with a key informant from health department of Banyuwangi Regency and additional informant, a mother with a stunting child. A recorder devise was applied to record ongoing FGDs and in-depth interview. The success of stunting management in Banyuwangi Regency in this study was identified in eight themes; preparation phase, program innovation, partnership, program implementation on children under five years of age, early stunting prevention, childcare step, observation, and assessment. The assessment phase was a controlling step in stunting treatment management. The eight thematic phases illustrated the application of the function of health service management in stunting treatment effort in Banyuwangi Regency. The system succeeded in involving all stakeholders; health department, community health center, cadres, and cross sectoral. Stunting treatment management is an implementation of the health service management, including: planning, organizing, executing and controlling. It is advised that the implementation of the health management function is conducted holistically comprising all stakeholders engaged in the stunting treatment through comprehensive and integrated intervention. Therefore, every stakeholder involved in handling stunting should collaborate across programs and sectors, prioritizing collaboration and empowerment to reduce the prevalence of stunting.
