Abstract
Creative and collaborative thinking skills arre essential for students in the 21st century. The 21st century has seen many changes, posing challenges for the younger generation in keeping up with the times, such as the ability to think creatively and collaboratively. Creative and collaborative thinking skills developed throught the learning process can help in solving problems. Biology lessons that are not reinforced with creative thinking will only cause students to memorize and repeat the material without understanding the concept. The fact is that the creative and collaborative thinking skills of students in Indoensia are currently still not as good as desired. Based on the resuld of the 2022 PISA (Progamme for International Student Assessment), Indonesia has improved since 2018, but the result are still lacking in science skills. The cause of low level of creative and collaborative thinking skills among students is monotonous learning methods. One learning model that can develop creative and collaborative thinking in students is the Project Based Learning model. The objectives of this study are: (1) to determine the effect of Project Based Learning on students creative thinking skills in biology lesson at the high school level, (2) to determine the effect of Project Based Learning on student collaborative in biology lessons at the high school level. This study is a quasi experimental study using a non equivalent control group design. This research was conducted at MAN 1 Jember in the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The sample was determined using purposive sampling with normality and homogenity tets beforehand, obtaining two classes at treatments, namely class XI Reg 1 as the experimental class and XI Ktr 1 as the control class. Data collection techniques included testing and observation. The data analyzed were students creative thinking skill and collaborative skills. The result showed that: (1) the significance value of creative thinking skills. The mean N gain was 0,60, which means that the learning had a moderate effect, (2) the significance value of collaborative skills was 0,007<0,5, meaning that Project Based Learning had an effect on students collaborative skills.
