Abstract
This research was conducted to improve students' listening
achievement by using ELLLO in a junior high school in Banyuwangi. The
researcher conducted a preliminary study by interviewing the English teacher.
Based on the results of the interview, one of the classes had low listening
scores (VIII A). The students' previous listening scores showed that only 11
(44%) out of 25 students scored ≥75. This happened because most students
did not recognize unfamiliar words and could not understand the meaning of
the words due to the speed of the audio. In addition, the English teacher taught
English twice a week and he had never used ELLLO as a medium to teach
listening. Therefore, the researcher conducted a classroom action research to
overcome the problem by using the ELLLO website.
