Hubungan Pola Asuh Orang Tua dengan Tingkat Kepercayaan Diri Anak Usia Sekolah Dasar di SDN Karang Anyar 1 Bondowoso

Abstract

Self-confidence is not easy to apply to the children. This is because the feelings such as fear, shame are still embedded. The study aim to analyze the relationship between parenting style and the level of self-confidence of elementary school-aged children at SDN Karang Anyar 1 Bondowoso. This study was conducted on 52 respondens who where selected using the total sampling. The data were collected by PSDQ (Parenting Style and Dimensions Questionnaire) and Self-confident questionnaire that already adapted by previous researcher. Research data was analyzed using spearman-rank test with significance value of 0,514. The result showed that the average level of self-confidence was at moderate level of selfconfidence (73,1%) , the majority of respondence were male (59,6%), 36,6% of respondents parental education were at elementary school, 42,2% of respondent parents job was a laborer, 55,8% of responden parents income was ar range of 500.000-1.000.000 rupiah, most of the respondents was a nuclear family (75%) with an average of 1-2 childrents (80,8%), the majority of respondents are Javanese (63,5%) and muslim (100%), also parenting style that was mostly used by the parents is authorative parentig style (86,5%). The result showed that there was a correlation between parenting style and the level of self-confidence (pvalue=0,001; r=0,514; α=0.05). Parenting style are something that greatly affects a child's self-confidence. Nurses play an important role by providing health education to increase knowledge about the impact of parenting style.
