Abstract
An emergency is a dangerous situation that occurs unexpectedly and requires quick action. The implementation of basic life support that is appropriate and in accordance with procedures can increase the chances of survival in emergency patients such as in cases of cardiac arrest. Basic life support allows the heart and lungs to function properly, maintain blood supply to the brain, and prevent permanent brain damage due to lack of oxygen. Self-efficacy is a individual's belief in their ability to solve a problem that can support the success of basic life support actions. This study aims to determine the description of self-efficacy in providing basic life support among village ambulance drivers in Jember Regency. This research design uses a statistic descriptive method with cross sectional approach on 71 respondents selected by cluster sampling with Resuscitation Self Efficacy Scale (RSES) instrument and data analyzed using frequency distribution. Most respondents were aged 20-40 years (50.7%), most had worked for 1-4 years (53.5%), the majority of respondens educational history was SMA/SMK (78.9%), all respondents had received basic life support training with (43.7%) respondents having direct experience and (63.4%) respondents having indirect experience. The results showed that the majority of respondents had high self-efficacy (76.1%). This research will be a source of information for subsequent research related to self-efficacy.
