Background: On March 1st 2012, PT KAI issued a policy governing prohibition on smoking of train to all passengers, both in economy, business and executive class. Objective: The aim of the study is describes perception of train passengers to prohibition policy on smoking of train. Methods: Type of the research is observational study. According to the time of research is cross sectional study. Population on the study is the train passengers and the number of sample is 98 respondents by sampling techniques are cluster random sampling. Data analysis technique used is descriptive. Results: Result of the study showing that majority of respondents supported prohibition on smoking of train. Total of 82 respondents (83.7%) agreed to prohibition on smoking of train, the remaining is 16 respondents (16.3%) disagreed to prohibition on smoking of train. Conclusions: Policy that issued PT KAI is populist policy although the implementation is not optimal yet. There are still founded some of passengers were still smoking.
