Penerapan Model RADEC Berbantuan Video Animasi untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Peserta Didik Kelas IV SDN Tamansari 01 Wuluhan

Abstract

Critical thinking is a 21st-century skill that needs to be cultivated in students, including within the context of Pancasila Education. However, preliminary observations in the fourth-grade class at SDN Tamansari 01 Wuluhan indicated that students' critical thinking skills remained low; instruction tended to be teachercentered and lacked models that encouraged students to analyze and solve problems. This study aimed to enhance students' critical thinking skills by implementing the Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create (RADEC) learning model supported by animated videos. It was conducted as Classroom Action Research (CAR) over two cycles, following the Hopkins model, which comprises planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 17 fourthgrade students at SDN Tamansari 01 Wuluhan during the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and critical thinking tests, and were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis based on learning mastery percentages. The results demonstrated that the RADEC model, supported by animated videos, successfully improved students' critical thinking skills. The percentage of classical learning mastery rose from 56% in the pre-cycle stage to 76.71% in Cycle I, and further to 83.35% in Cycle II, thereby surpassing the study's success indicator of a minimum of 75%. This improvement was driven by learning activities that encouraged students to read, answer questions, engage in discussions, explain their reasoning, and devise solutions to problems presented via animated videos. Thus, the RADEC learning model supported by animated videos is effective in enhancing students' critical thinking skills in the subject of Pancasila Education.
