    Abstract
    Jalan kumitir adalah jalan yang sangat vital karena merupakan jalan penghubung antara 2 kabupaten, yaitu kabupaten Banyuwangi dan kabupaten jember. Namun sering terjadi longsor pada saat hujan sehingga membahayakan pengguna jalan. Untuk mengetahui mengapa hal itu bisa terjadi, maka dilakukan penelitian tentang stabilitas lereng. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa nilai SF pada lereng sisi atas ruas jalan gunung kumitir adalah 0,866. Nilai tersebut dibawah nilai nilai SF yang ditentukan yakni SF>1,5. Untuk mendapatkan SF tersebut maka perlu perencanaan dinding penahan tanah. Pada skripsi ini direncanakan dinding penahan tanah menggunakan tipe kantilever karena berbagai alasan, salah satunya karena study kasus berada pada lereng jalan di tebing gunung sehingga di tuntut untuk seefektif mungkin dalam dimensinya serta kemudahan dalam pelaksanaannya dengan tinggi lereng yang mencapai 16 meter dan panjang lokasi longsor pada study kasus 32 meter, maka direncanakan dimensi dinding penahan tanah sebagai berikut : tinggi total dinding 8 m, tinggi stem 7,2 m, tebal stem pangkal 0,8 m, tebal stem puncak 0,4 m, tebal pondasi 0,8 m, panjang dinding 3 m, fc’= 300 kg/cm 2, fy = 2500 kg/cm 2 = 25 kN/m 2. Setelah menggunakan dinding penahan tanah dengan dimensi yang direncanakan, maka didapatkan nilai SF 3,44. Nilai tersebut sudah memenuhi syarat SF yang ditentukan yaitu SF >1,5. Kumitir road is the road which is very vital because it is a connecting road between the two districts, namely the district of Banyuwangi and district of Jember. But frequent landslides during the rainy thus endangering road users. To find of did it happen, then do research on slope stability. From the survey results revealed that the SF on the upper slopes of the mountain roads kumitir is 0.866. This value is below a specified value of the SF that is SF >1.5. To get the SF is then necessary retaining wall plan. In this thesis planned retaining wall using a cantilever type for various reasons, because study cases on the road at the brow of the hill slopes that are in demand to be as effective as possible in it ’s dimensions and ease of implementation. With the high slope that reaches 16 meters and the long location of landslides in the study cases 32 meters, the planned retaining wall dimensionsas follows: total height of the walls of 8 meters, stem height of 7,2 meters, stem base of 0.8 m thick, thick stem top 0.4 meters, 0.8 meters thick foundation, wall length 3 meters,fc '=300 kg/cm 2, fy = 2500 kg/cm 2 = 25 kN/m 2. After using the retaining wall with dimensions that are planned, then the obtained value of SF 3.44. That amount has been determined eligible SF is SF> 1.5.
