Analisis Numerik Aliran Darah pada Kasus Pulmonary Artery Stenosis Menggunakan Metode Volume Hingga

Abstract

This study presents a numerical analysis of blood flow in a stenotic pulmonary artery associated with Pulmonary Artery Stenosis. Three stenosis geometries, namely Elliptical-Shaped, Bell-Shaped, and Cosine-Shaped, are investigated with stenosis severities of 50%, 70%, and 80%. A mathematical model based on incompressible Navier–Stokes equations is developed and discretized using the finite volume method with the SIMPLER pressure–velocity coupling scheme. The model is solved numerically in MATLAB and validated against CFD simulations using ANSYS Fluent 2026 R1 under equivalent conditions. The results show that increasing stenosis severity causes higher flow velocity and lower static pressure in the stenotic region. The maximum velocity increases from approximately 0.428 m/s at 50% stenosis to 1.091 m/s at 80% stenosis, with the Elliptical-Shaped geometry producing the highest velocity of 1.091543 m/s. The agreement between MATLAB and ANSYS Fluent confirms that the finite volume method with the SIMPLER algorithm effectively captures hemodynamic characteristics in Pulmonary Artery Stenosis.
