Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model in improving the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in IPAS on the topic of economic activities at UPTD SPF SD Negeri Kotakulon 1 Bondowoso. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 28 students of class IVA. Data were collected through observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation, and were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative analysis. In Cycle I, the implementation of STAD included material presentation, heterogeneous group formation, group discussion using Student Worksheets (LKPD), individual tests (posttests), and group rewards. The teacher's activity reached 95%, categorized as very good, while the students' average learning outcome was 67.83 with a learning mastery percentage of 41.67%. Based on the reflection results, improvements were made in Cycle II by providing simpler explanations, using examples of economic activities related to students' daily lives, clarifying the concepts of production, distribution, and consumption, and improving the presentation of evaluation questions. The results of Cycle II showed an increase in students' activity to 93.75%, while the teacher's activity remained at 95%. The average learning outcome increased from 67.83 in Cycle I to 76.34 in Cycle II, while the percentage of learning mastery increased from 41.67% to 65.38%. These results indicate that the implementation of the STAD cooperative learning model was accompanied by an improvement in the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in IPAS on the topic of economic activities.
