Peran Pengelola Wisata Kampung Durian dalam Pemberdayaan Perempuan di Desa Pakis Jember

Abstract

Kampung Durian is a community-based tourism destination that utilizes the potential of durian plantations in Pakis Village, Panti District, Jember Regency. The tourism destination has involved many women in various tourism and economic activities. This study aims to analyze the role of Kampung Durian management in involving women in tourism activities and supporting their empowerment. The analysis is based on Naila Kabeer's empowerment theory, which explains empowerment through three dimensions: resources, agency, and achievements. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the stages of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the management plays an important role by providing women with access to participate in Kampung Durian, offering business facilities, and organizing training programs to improve their knowledge and skills. These efforts encourage women to participate in tourism activities and utilize the opportunities provided according to their abilities.The study concludes that, based on Naila Kabeer's empowerment theory, the role of Kampung Durian management is reflected in the resources dimension through the provision of business facilities and training. Women utilize these resources through agency by actively participating in tourism and economic activities. This process leads to achievements, as women gain greater opportunities to improve their skills, participate in public activities, and enhance their economic well-being.
