Abstract

The Influence of the Population-Aware School (SSK) on Child Marriage Decisions in Bondowoso Regency; Ratna Tridyanti Suryaningtyas; 232520102011; 192 pages; Postgraduate in public Health, University of Jember Child marriage remains a serious problem in Indonesia, with Bondowoso Regency having a prevalence of 11.45% (the sixth highest in East Java). The Population Care School (SSK) is implemented as a preventive strategy, but its effectiveness needs to be empirically evaluated. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the School Population Alert (SSK) along with predisposing, enabling, and reinforcing Faktor on child marriage decisions among junior high school alumni in Bondowoso Regency. The study employed a retrospective cohort design with a sample of 302 respondents selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using Binary Logistic Regression with the Backward Stepwise method based on the PRECEDEPROCEED theoretical framework. The results showed that the prevalence of child marriage in the sample was 10.9%. The SSK program had a highly significant effect in preventing child marriage (Odds Ratio = 0.067–0.124; p < 0.001), with 100% of child marriage cases factually occurring in non-SSK school alumni. The reinforcing factor of parental support was the most dominant determinant, reducing the risk of child marriage by 96.8% (OR = 0.032; p < 0.001). Additionally, age, knowledge, attitude, PIK-R activities, and teacher support also had significant effects. Conversely, population education materials, population corner facilities, peer support, and culture were not significant after controlling for other variables. It is concluded that the effectiveness of SSK relies heavily on the synergy between school interventions and family authority support.
