Efektivitas Nematoda Entomopatogen Sebagai Pengendali Pengorok Daun (Phyllocnistis Citrella) pada Tanaman Jeruk (Citrus SP.)

Abstract

The effectiveness of entomopathogenic nematodes in controlling the citrus leafminer (Phyllocnistis citrella Stainton) will be assessed by measuring the mortality rate of P. citrella larvae at different concentration levels. This study aims to examine the mortality rate and symptoms observed following the application of entomopathogenic nematodes to P. citrella larvae. The experiment used to test effectiveness in this study employed a completely randomized design (CRD) with six different concentration treatments and four replicates per treatment, with observations continuing up to 72 hours after application. The entomopathogenic nematodes used showed a significant mortality rate, with the highest mortality rate reaching 90% at 72 hours after application. Infected caterpillars exhibited symptoms such as a change in skin color from an initially transparent yellow to a brownish hue. Probit analysis results indicated an LC50 value of 324.43 Jl/mL, indicating that the use of entomopathogenic nematodes against the citrus leaf miner (Phyllocnistis citrella) as a biological control agent is quite effective in suppressing the population of P. citrella caterpillars.
