Abstract

The high volume of traffic on the Alaskandang-Besuk Highway has led to significant economic activity along this major highway, making it necessary to analyze the relationship between road infrastructure and economic activity. This study aims to analyze the spatial distribution patterns and the dominance of MSME types using the Buffering and Nearest Neighbor Analysis techniques to examine the concentration and distribution patterns of MSMEs along the Alaskandang-Besuk Agung Highway. The research findings reveal that along the highway there are 158 MSMEs divided into 3 zones with a clustered distribution pattern. The Nearest Neighbor Analysis yielded a value of 0.517207 (T<1), indicating a clustered distribution pattern. The distribution of MSME locations is dominated by Zone 1 (0–25 m), with a total of 146 MSMEs, accounting for 92.41% of the total. Types and dominance of MSME business types in the culinary sector, with a total of 67 MSMEs, accounting for 42.41%. The high concentration of MSMEs in Zone 1 of the study area indicates a phenomenon of road oriented development. The very tight average actual distance between neighboring businesses 7.3235 meters reveals the occurrence of highly intense economic agglomeration along the main highway corridor.
