Pengaruh Mental Accounting dan Financial Self Control terhadap Financial Behavior melalui Behavior Intention sebagai Variabel Intervening pada Gen Z di Kabupaten Jember

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of mental accounting and financial self control on financial behavior through behavior intention among Generation Z in Jember Regency. This study used a quantitative approach with explanatory research design and SEM-PLS analysis. The results show that mental accounting positively influences behavior intention with an original sample value of 0.391 and p-value 0.000, while financial self-control positively influences behavior intention with an original sample value of 0.465 and p-value 0.000. Behavior intention also positively affects financial behavior with an original sample value of 0.508 and p value 0.000. These findings indicate that better financial planning and stronger self-control encourage healthier financial behavior among Generation Z. Therefore, Generation Z is recommended to improve budgeting habits and strengthen self-control in using digital financial services.
