Metode Geolistrik Resistivitas 2D dan Uji Tekstur Tanah untuk Mengidentifikasi Struktur Bawah Permukaan di Perkebunan Sentool

Abstract

The success of rubber plantation management is greatly influenced by the physical conditions of the soil and its surface structure. Soil texture and structure are important factors that affect the soil’s ability to retain and drain water, as well as to allow air circulation. This study utilized the 2D Wenner-Schlumberger resistivity method and soil texture tests to identify the subsurface structure at the study site. The study employed three survey lines, each 20 m long, with an electrode spacing of 1 m. The subsurface structure at the study site, based on the geoelectric result, consists of several layers with different resistivity characteristics, indicating variations in the lithological composition of the subsurface materials. Meanwhile, the soil texture tests showed variations in soil texture classes across the study site. The clay fraction indicates that the study area is dominated by fine particles, which are more effective in retaining water and nutrients than coarser particles. The silt loam texture class is capable of storing a considerable amount of water because it has finer particle sizes that sand, although its water-holding capacity is lower than that of clay.
