dc.description.abstractWater is one of vital resources for the life of living creatures. As time goes by, the existence of water wells have worried. Therefore, water purifying need to be done to get clean water which fulfills physical, chemistry, and biological requirements. The aim of this research is to understand the comparison of alum’s and unslaked lime’s effectivity in water purifying. In this research, purification that will be done was coagulation methode. And the coagulant that be used were alum and unslaked lime. The sample of water came from Bedadung River that be taken by tap water in Laboratory of PDAM Tegal Besar. The turbidity of sample and coagulant combination will be measured by Turbidity Meter. And then, the product that we get will be tested by Statistic of Independent Sample t Test. This tested products show that the average turbidity of sample before be given by coagulant dissolve was 64,38 NTU. While the average turbidity of sample after be given by alum dissolve was 11,680 NTU. And the average turbidity of sample after be given by unslaked lime dissolve was 36,020 NTU. So, this research concludes that alum usage is more effective than unslaked lime in water purifying.en_US
