Abstract
Carbofuran insecticide is still widely used in the agricultural sector, especially on rice crops. Carbofuran insecticide is considered capable of controlling plant pests because it is highly effective. However, in practice, farmers often exceed the recommended dosage when using insecticides. This results in higher levels of carbofuran residue in the soil. The greater the amount of carbofuran insecticide residue on the soil surface, the greater its effect on changes in the physical properties of the soil. One of these physical changes is seen in changes in the resistivity value of the soil surface. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to identify changes in soil resistivity values due to the application of low (3g), medium (5g), and high (7g) doses to the soil. Changes in soil resistivity values were identified using the Wenner Schlumberger configuration geoelectric method with a quantitative descriptive research method. The results of the study showed that the greatest decrease in resistivity values occurred in the experimental polybag with a dose of 7 g, ranging from (86.5) Ωm to (417) Ωm during the observation period. Meanwhile, the smallest decrease in soil resistivity, or the one closest to the previous soil resistivity, occurred in the control polybag with resistivity values ranging from (670) Ωm to (727) Ωm during the observation period. The conclusion of this study is that the higher the dose of insecticide in the soil, the greater the change in resistivity compared to soil without insecticide application. The higher the dose of insecticide (3 g, 5 g, and 7 g) contained in the soil, the more the resistivity value will decrease over the observation period on days 0, 3, and 7. This condition makes it increasingly difficult for the soil to return to its original condition before being contaminated with insecticide.
