KESIAPAN PUSKESMAS DALAM MEMBENTUK PAGUYUBAN TB SEBAGAI UPAYA PENANGGULANGAN PENYAKIT TB DI KABUPATEN JEMBER (Studi Kualitatif di Puskesmas Jenggawah dan Wuluhan Kabupaten Jember)

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by tuberculosis bacteria (Mycobacterium tuberculosis). Indonesia is one of countries with the largest TB burden. Considering this, the TB control requires an integrated and systematic effort. This research was conducted to determine the readiness of community health centers to establish a TB association in the viewpoint of AKMS concept (Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization) at community health centers of Jenggawah and Wuluhan in Jember Regency. The research was conducted using descriptive design by qualitative data analysis. In depth interviews were conducted to 6 respondents. Subjects were taken from the target by using purposive sampling technique. The in depth interviews were conducted to gain deeper information about the variables examined, including knowledge of community health centers about TB association, readiness of public health centers to establish a TB association in terms of advocacy, readiness of community health centers to establish a TB association in terms of communication, and readiness of public health centers to establish a TB association in terms of social mobilization. Based on the results of in depth interviews on the knowledge of association, community health centers of Jenggawah and Wuluhan had diverse knowledge. Meanwhile, the readiness of the community health centers to establish an association in terms of AKMS was still a concept or framework and was not in an operational form. The suggestion that can be given is that a community health centers should increase knowledge about TB association, realizing the concept or idea of establishing a TB association in an operational form.
