Pengembangan Modul Pembelajaran Berbasis Stem Pada Materi Pencemaran Lingkungan untuk Meningkatkan Literasi Sains dan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Peserta Didik SMP

Abstract

This study aims to develop valid, practical, and effective STEM-based learning modules. The development of this module also has a focus on facilitating students to improve scientific literacy and critical thinking skills. This research adopts the four-D research and development model developed by Thiagarajan which includes 4 stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The data were collected from the need assessment of junior high school students and teachers, students’ response questionnaires, and pretest-post-test results. In addition, teaching-learning tools (syllabus, lesson plans, modules, questions) and students’ response questionnaires were validated by 3 expert validators. Then, the questionnaire data are analyzed using descriptive qualitative method while the pretest-post-test results are analyzed using t-test and N-gain. The results show that the developed STEM-based learning module is feasible to use because it has obtained a percentage of 91,78% in the valid category, 86,76% in the practical category, and 0,67 in the effective category. In addition, based on the results of the post-test, the modules facilitated students to improve their scientific literacy skills and critical thinking skills
