Abstract
The candlenut processing industry plays an important role in increasing commodity value but continues
to face challenges related to efficiency and competitiveness. This study aimed to analyze value added,
investment feasibility, and development strategies for the candlenut cracking industry at PT. Berkah
Alam. A descriptive-analytical approach was employed using the Hayami method for value-added
analysis, capital budgeting (NPV, IRR, Net B/C, and Payback Period) for strategy formulation. The result
showed that whole kernels generated the highest value added of IDR 3,442/kg with a value-added ratio of
23,90%, while cracked kernels achieved a ratio of 9,88%. The investment was financially feasible with an
NPV of IDR 11.384.923.682, an IRR of 86,8%, a Net B/C ratio of 6,30, and a Payback Period of 2 year, 5
months, and 10 days. The priority strategy is an aggressive growth strategy focusing on market
expansion, inventory management, production facility modernization, and utilization of candlenut shell
waste as biomass. These findings demonstrate that integrating value-added, investment feasibility, and
TOWS analyses provides a comprehensive basis for sustainable candlenut agroindustry development.
