    Abstract
Jepara is one of the areas with potential fishery resources to be developed. The total fishery production in 2022 is 58,176.157 tons and contributes to regional income of more than 1.1 trillion rupiah. This condition indicates that Jepara Regency fisheries have the potential to be further developed, especially for long-term development. However, the sustainability status of Jepara Regency's fisheries is not yet known, so that the formulation of development strategies cannot be carried out properly. The aim of this research is to formulate a strategy for sustaining the potential of superior fisheries in Jepara Regency. The research was conducted through three stages. The first stage is the identification of superior commodities using the comparative performance Index (CPI) method. The second stage analyzes the sustainability status of prime commodities using the RAPFISH software involving five dimensions, namely ecology, economy, socio-culture, infrastructure technology, and institutions. The third stage is the formulation of the strategy from the results of the sustainability analysis based on interviews with experts using the Multi Expert Multi Criteria Decision Making (ME-MCDM) method. The results showed that the leading fishery commodity in the Regency was seaweed. In general, the existing status of sustainability is less sustainable with an ecological dimension value of 38.80 (less sustainable); economic dimension 39.42 (less sustainable); cultural social dimension 66.50 (quite sustainable); infrastructure technology dimension 29.99 (less sustainable); and institutional dimension 29.71 (less sustainable). Based on these conditions, the strategies that can be implemented are (1) eliminating pond activity space; (2) adaptive and environmentally friendly cultivation management; (3) aquaculture management based on integrated coastal zone management; (4) increasing the added value of seaweed cultivation; (5) increasing the role of community empowerment and counseling activities; (6) construction of adequate infrastructure facilities; (7) strengthening business partnerships; and (8) strong and independent institutional development
