    Abstract
    Hospital as individual health care institutions who have the human resources that the quality is very instrumental in supporting such an health service. Nurses are the most important human resource in hospital because in addition to the amount of the dominant, nurses is also a profession that provides a constant and continuous service during 24 hours to patients every day. Nursing services as an integral part of the health service obviously has a very decisive contribution to the quality of service at the hospital. So any attempt to improve the quality of hospital service should be accompanied by efforts to improve the quality of nursing work life. quality of working life is a level where members work organization able to meet the personal needs through their experiences in the organization where they work.In the RSD Balung, the honorary power proportion of nurses greater than the civil servant nurses and nurses as well as excess workload. The objective of these research was to know the description of the quality of work life of nurses in inpatient installation at RSD Balung Jember. These research used descriptive quantitative analysis methods. Result showed that components of the quality of work life employee participation, career development, conflict resolution, communication, wellness, safe environment were good and the quality of working life the components of job security, pride, equitable compensation were bad.
