Pengaruh Gel Ekstrak Kulit Buah Kopi Robusta (Coffea canephora) terhadap Peningkatan Jumlah Pembuluh Darah Kapiler pada Mukosa Bukal Tikus Model Ulser Traumatik

Abstract

Traumatic ulcers are soft tissue lesions of the oral cavity characterized by epithelial damage and opening of connective tissue due to trauma. Ulcer healing parameters can be seen from the increase in the number of capillaries. Robusta coffee husk can help the ulcer healing process because it contains active compounds that have anti-inflammatory properties. The research aimed to prove the effect of robusta coffee husk extract gel on increasing the number of capillaries in the buccal mucosa of rats with a traumatic ulcer model. Laboratory experimental research used twenty mice which were divided into a negative control group (placebo gel), a positive control group (gengigel gel), and a treatment group with robusta coffee husk extract gel 2.5% (P1), 5% (P2), and 10% (P3). Traumatic ulcers are created by thermal application. Data were analyzed using the parametric One Way Anova and Honestly Significant Difference tests. Robusta coffee husk extract contains 0.704% flavonoids, 0.234% tannins, 0.399% total phenolics, and 43.54 μg/ml antioxidants. The test results showed that there was a significant difference (p<0.05) between the mean number of capillaries in the treatment group compared to the negative control group. Application of robusta coffee husk extract gel can increase the number of capillaries in the buccal mucosa of rats in a traumatic ulcer model.
