Abstract

Physics is widely regared as a challenging and unapealling subject due to learning processes that rely heavily on memorizing abstract formulas with little relevance to everyday life. This condition necessitates innovative learning strategies that intellectually engage students while connecting subject matter to rael world experiences. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of a guided inquiry model integrated with Arduino Uno HC-SR04 sensor on explication critical thinking skills and physics learning outcomes of vocational high school students. This study employed a quantitative approach with a posttest only control group experimental design. The experimental group received guided inquiry learning assisted by the Arduino Uno HC-SR04 sensor, while the control group underwent conventional learning. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U-Test. The results revealed a significance value of 0,000 (sig. ≤ 0,05), indicating significant differences between both groups in explication critical thinking skills and physics learning outcomes. These findings demonstrate that integrating the guided inquiry model with Arduino Uno HC-SR04 sensor technology is proven effective in optimizing students’ explication critical thinking skills and significantly improving their physics learning outcomes.
