Ecofeminism Analysis of Women's Bodies in Aldous Huxley Brave New World

Abstract

This research is grounded in the issue of gender inequality and nature exploitation in the patriarchal system that puts women and nature as objects of control. The novel Brave New World represents a dystopian society that uses technology to control all aspects of human life. This research aims to analyze the form of oppression of women's bodies and nature, and to reveal the interconnectedness of both through ecofeminism perspective. This study uses a qualitative method with a textual analysis approach. The data includes narration and dialogue taken through close reading, and analyzed using ecofeminism theory to identify domination patterns that work in the patriarchal and anthropocentric system.The results show that women's bodies are controlled systematically through natural reproduction, biological intervention, and emotional control, so that women lose their autonomy over their bodies and experience. While nature is devalued and replaced by an artificial system because it does not considersupport consumption and stability. Both forms of oppression are interconnected because they originate from the same patriarchal and anthropocentric ideology that seeks to control biological life and eliminate natural processes. Both represent aspects of life that cannot be controlled. This study concludes that technology is used in novel ways as a tool of domination that tries to erase uncertainty in life. Therefore, ecofeminist perspectives are important for understanding the relationship between bodies, gender, and nature, and for criticizing the modern system that has the potential to erode humanity's value.
