Abstract
The current Merdeka Curriculum focuses on developing 21st-century skills through learning related to the surrounding environment. This can be implemented in the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject which integrates scientific and social concepts with the surrounding environmental context so that it is expected to improve understanding, learning outcomes, activeness and strengthen the cultural identity of the local environment. Therefore, the development of contextual textbooks is needed. However, in practice, the textbooks used by grade III B students of SDN Jember Lor III have not fully integrated the surrounding environmental context so that the implementation of the contextual approach has not been optimally implemented. This study aims to determine the validity, effectiveness, and practicality of the development of contextual-based IPAS textbook products for grade III students of SDN Jember Lor III which was implemented in the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The type of research used is development or Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg and Gall model by implementing 8 stages. In addition, this study uses an internal pre-experimental approach with a one group pre-test post-test design. This study involved 28 students as samples using a purposive sampling technique. The instruments used consisted of observation, interviews, validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The results showed that the product's validity obtained a score of 86.66, which is in the very feasible category, while the product's effectiveness reached a score of 62, which is in the quite effective category, and the product's practicality obtained a score of 86, which is in the very practical category.
