Abstract
The mathematics learning process is still centered on the teacher with limited media use, so students tend to be passive and less enthusiastic during the learning process. More active learning and in accordance with the characteristics of lower grade students to improve student learning outcomes requires a Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. The purpose of this study is the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by tangram puzzle media on flat shape material on the learning outcomes of class II students of SDN Blindungan 1 Bondowoso. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The study was conducted in the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year with 40 research subjects divided into experimental and control classes. The experimental class uses the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by tangram puzzle media, while the control class uses the Cooperative Learning model. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, and objective tests in the form of pretests and posttests. The research instrument was tested using validity and reliability tests, while data analysis was carried out through the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Independent Sample t-test, and effectiveness test with the help of SPSS version 26. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class increased from 56.25 to 80 with an increase of 23.75, while the control class increased from 57.5 to 73.3 with an increase of 15.75. The results of the Independent Sample t-test obtained a t-count value of 3.890 greater than the t-table of 2.024 so that Hₐ was accepted and H₀ was rejected. The effectiveness level of the PjBL model was 40.5% in the low effectiveness category. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the PjBL model assisted by tangram puzzle media has an effect on improving the mathematics learning outcomes of students at SDN Blindungan 1 Bondowoso.
